Effective April 1: New MOL procedure for reporting occupational illness

The Northern Region of the Ministry of Labour has implemented a new procedure to help employers to report incidents of occupational illness required by section 52 (2) and 52 (3) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Effective April 1, 2012, clients will be required to report any and all incidents of occupational illness via fax, e-mail, regular mail or in person to the appropriate address for your operation. The contact information for all five districts in the northern region is listed below.

Clients should ensure that the written notice contains all the information required by the regulation, and that contact information is included, should there be any questions or need for clarification.
