Three Ontario companies receive highest provincial honour

Yesterday in North Bay, representatives from three Ontario companies attended the annual general meeting of their provincial health and safety association, Workplace Safety North, to accept the President’s Award for health and safety excellence.

As the occupational health and safety expert for Ontario forestry, mining, and paper, printing, and converting sectors, WSN province-wide awards recognize the commitment of companies to the prevention of illness and injury.

During the annual general meeting and awards dinner, WSN celebrated the efforts of Ontario workers and companies by acknowledging the President’s Award winners for their superior efforts in occupational health and safety. Candys Ballanger-Michaud, WSN President and Chief Executive Officer, presented each winner with the highest provincial honour for their contribution to building safe and healthy workplaces in Ontario.

“The awards recognize the efforts of workplaces that choose to make safety a priority. Our members deserve special recognition when they demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring that every worker goes home safe and healthy,” says Ballanger-Michaud. “They lead the way and set the tone for their sectors—they’re positive role models for Ontario businesses to make workplace health and safety an integral part of every job and every work day.”
