The 2014 Workplace Safety North regional training schedule is now posted online and includes standard health and safety training such as Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certification and leadership skills, as well as mandatory MCTU modular training for common core courses specific to each sector.
Forestry-specific health and safety training includes JHSC certification, supervisor health and safety training, as well as the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MCTU) common core classroom training on health and safety principles and practices related to the equipment they’ve been hired to operate, such as cutter-skidder, mechanical harvesting, and more.
Mining-specific health and safety training includes JHSC certification, supervisor health and safety training and more, as well as MCTU common core classroom training for first-line supervisors for hard rock, soft rock, and generic requirements.
