Shotcrete is generally a positive additon to any deep mine ground support system, however realistic expectations of what this type of rigid surface support can and can not do are required. This presentation focuses on field behaviour of shotcrete in deep mining environments. Composite liner systems are also discussed: shotcrete, fibrecrete, screen reinforced shotcrete, screen over shotcrete, and the potential of using thin spray-on liners over shotcrete.
