Within twelve months of having completed JHSC Certification Part 1 training, this Part 2 course will provide sector-specific hazard training that gives learners the knowledge and skills to recognize assess and control hazards in their workplace and to evaluate hazard controls. This includes understanding how to identify the relevant legislation, standards, guidelines and best practices as they apply to the hazards in question.
Each section of the two-day course reviews a significant hazard in forestry operations, including musculoskeletal disorders, slips, trips and falls, machine guarding issues, lockout processes, struck-by hazards and mobile equipment hazards. The course also provides a review of the content of JHSC Certification Part 1 training.

Intended Audience:
The course is designed for JHSC members who have already completed Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification Training Part 1 and are interested in completing their certification process.

The instructor will be required to verify participant’s identification by checking valid photo ID prior to the start of the course. Please ensure that you bring one of the following accepted identification credentials with you: Canadian or foreign passport; Canadian citizenship card; Immigration and Refugee Report; Enhanced driver’s licence issued by Ontario; or Ontario Health Insurance Card.
NOTE: Failing to provide the proper credentials will result in a non-completion of the training program and no record of training will be issued.
