Participants will learn to use the 'SAFE' risk assessment method to protect themselves and others in the workplace. Participants will learn to think twice and act once by Seeing hazards, Assessing the risks associated with the hazard, Fixing the hazard by using controls and Evaluating the effectiveness of the controls being used.
The importance of risk assessment and some background theory will be reviewed. As part of the course activities, risk assessment tools will be used to provide participants with practice assessing risk associated with production tasks in the mining industry.

This course is intended for front line workers & supervisors from all mining sectors, JHSC members, health & safety personnel.
