This program is aimed at providing participants with the knowledge, tools, and techniques needed to respond effectively to psychological health and safety issues in the workplace. It consists of three components:
Mental Health 101
- Understand why mental health matters at work
- Define mental health, illness, and harm
- Recognize the signs and symptoms on the mental health continuum
- Discuss Stigma and the impact of perceptions on overall workplace culture and mental health
- How to implement a personal action plan using the mental health continuum as a guide
Psychological health and safety in the workplace
- Learn about the CSA Standard for psychological health and safety (Z1003)
- Explore 13 psychosocial risk factors through a consolidated framework, and learn about the impacts that these factors can have on workplace mental health
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of all workplace parties in contributing to positive psychological health and safety
Psychologically safe leadership
- Build awareness of your Circle of Influence
- Complete self-assessment exercises addressing five leadership domains
- Identify and establish personal action plans to enhance communication and collaboration, social intelligence, problem solving and conflict resolution, security and safety, and fairness and integrity
- Explore leadership-oriented strategies that support psychological health and safety
