Provincially-approved training certification requires on-site evaluation by an approved evaluator
As part of the forestry modular training requirements Ontario law requires employers of logging operations to conduct an on-site trainee evaluation by qualified Workplace Safety North (WSN)-approved trainers or WSN-approved evaluators for the following Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) programs: Mechanical Harvesting Equipment Operator (MHEO), and Forestry Pit and Road Construction Equipment Operator (FPRCEO).
Approved evaluators accredited by WSN provide on-site evaluations for the following modular training programs:
Approved evaluators can provide on-site evaluations for worker certifications, but not classroom training (see MHEO Program Guidelines).
Employers must use an approved evaluator to conduct a final on-site trainee skills evaluation before completion of the MLTSD Modular Training Report. Evaluations must be successfully completed before the Signing Authority can verify certification and the Modular Training Report is submitted to the local MLTSD office.
