OHS Act And Industrial Regulations

The purpose of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations half-day course is to teach participants about occupational health and safety law in Ontario. The course is designed for JHSC members, health and safety representatives, supervisors and other interested workers and members of management.

Throughout the course, participants will learn to use the "green book" and will:

  • Become familiar with the contents of the Act and Regulations, and have the knowledge and skill to be able to access detailed information when required,
  • Understand the three worker rights in the province of Ontario,
  • Describe the powers of a Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) inspector, and
  • Understand the Internal Responsibility System and due diligence – and the important relationship between the two.

Intended Audience:

The course is designed for members and prospective members of Joint Health and Safety Committees, Health and Safety Representatives, supervisors, and other interested workers and members of management.
