Health and Safety Specialist

Based out of: Thunder Bay

As part of a high performance team, you will assist clients in meeting and exceeding their Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities by evaluating the quality of health and safety programs in a variety of workplaces, providing outcome-oriented consulting and developing clear and concise action plans. This includes delivering high-impact training to supervisors and workers, facilitating meetings and leading industry committees as well as visiting sites in remote locations.

A natural leader, you will be able to analyze complex situations, determine when technical support is required, develop clear recommendations, and write reports. Your ability to develop work plans and schedules, set and meet goals, and work with minimal supervision is complemented by your ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You possess sound knowledge of adult education, coaching and facilitation, and have obtained post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of training/education, complemented with seven years of related job experience in occupational health and safety. Experience in a forestry sector-related discipline is required. Bilingual communication skills in the French language are considered an asset. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or the ability to attain is required. A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required.
