Benoit joined Agnico Eagle in 2010 as an intern in the Health and Safety department, marking the start of a career deeply rooted in promoting safe and responsible mining practices. He advanced steadily through a broad range of increasingly senior health and safety roles including Industrial Hygiene Counsellor, Health & Safety Advisor, Coordinator, Superintendent, and Corporate Health & Safety Advisor.

His progression has been shaped by hands-on experience at multiple Agnico Eagle sites across Québec and Nunavut, as well as his work over the past three years at the company’s Ontario head office. Today, Benoit serves as Director, Health, Safety & Security for Agnico Eagle’s Canadian operations, where he continues to champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Benoit holds a bachelor’s degree in management, along with both certificate in Health and Safety and a second degree in Strategic Health and Safety Management from Université de Sherbrooke and Université du Québec. He also spent several years as a mine rescue team member and remains active in various health and safety roundtables and industry forums.
