This e-learning course is designed to address the requirements laid out in the Surface Miner Common Core (Program #770010) Modular Training Standard for the U5032: Operate Hand and Power Tools module.
Topics addressed in this course include:
- Operating hand tools using personal protective equipment
- Maintaining and storing hand tools
- Inspecting and setting up, and operating electrically powered, pneumatic, and hydraulic hand tools
To become fully accredited under the Surface Miner Common Core program, participants must return to their workplace and demonstrate their skills to a qualified trainer to get signed off on this common core module.

This course is intended for workers in surface mining operations who are looking to complete Modular Common Core training.
