This e-learning course is one of a four-part series designed to focus on key information and best practices used by joint health and safety committees (JHSCs) in striving for excellence.
In this course, focused on enhancing a JHSC’s collaboration and communication practices, you will come to know about:
- How to clarify a JHSC’s mandate with a clear mission statement and terms of reference document
- Contributors to effective JHSC meetings
- Resources and tools available to you that can assist with role clarification and implementing best practices
At the end of the course, you’ll be given the opportunity to develop an action plan for further discussion with your committee. Apply your learnings to identify your JHSC’s strengths as well as opportunities for continuous improvement.
Intended Audience
This course is intended for any member – representing workers or management – who is interested in learning more about approaches to enhance a JHSC’s effectiveness. While certified members are encouraged to take this course, it poses added benefit to general members who do not have their certification. In addition, anyone working in a small business environment can learn more about health and safety requirements and best practices from taking this course.
