This e-learning course is one of a four-part series designed to focus on key information and best practices used by joint health and safety committees (JHSCs) in striving for excellence.
In this course, focused on legislated requirements and committee functions when it comes to work refusals and work stoppages, you will come to know about:
- The three worker rights, including the right to refuse unsafe work
- The work refusal process (with scenarios to gauge learning)
- Legislation in the Occupational Health and Safety Act pertaining to dangerous circumstances and work stoppage processes
- The processes for a bilateral and a unilateral work stoppage (with scenarios on each type)
This e-course contains a series of interactive exercises to reinforce the content and put it into action.
At the end of the course, you’ll be given the opportunity to develop an action plan for further discussion with your committee. Apply your learnings to identify your JHSC’s strengths as well as opportunities for continuous improvement.
