Water incidents continue to contribute to high-risk hazards, potentially resulting in critical injuries or fatalities for Ontario’s mining workforce.

Through taking this e-learning course, participants will come to know:

  • How water behaves underground
  • About hazards related to water use underground
  • Related laws and regulations
  • How to assess water‑related hazards
  • Key parts of an effective water management program

This short awareness course is designed to raise awareness, helping protect workers and prevent water‑related incidents.

This course is one of two e-learning modules designed to raise awareness of contributors to runs of materials in mining operations. The other course, focusing on ground control, is also available on the WSN website.
